Jayley's Birthday

Wow! Jayley is 15. I can't hardly believe it. She is a freshman this year. I know these next 3 years are going to fly by. She is such a wonderful person that sometimes I get scared that her life is too good. She is very well liked because she is fun to be around and nice to everyone. She has been so successful in athletics. She started as a freshman on the varsity volleyball team and within the first few weeks of basketball had worked her way up to a varsity position. She doesn't start, but she gets as much playing time as most of the starters and had several games where she was the lead scorer. She has done seriously so awesome. And to top it off she was the freshman class homecoming princess. She is still trying to maintain her 4.0, but has had a hard time this year. She still has the 4.0 for overall semester grades, but has had 2 B's during the quarter grade. She misses so much school for sports. It's crazy here how much school they miss. For example, during basketball season she left on a Thurs. for a trip to play Juneau. They returned on Sunday. Then on Tuesday they left for a tournament in Anchorage and returned on Sunday again. So over the course of 10 school days she was only there for 4. It's like that all season long. They just left Monday for regionals and will return on Sunday so another missed week of school. With that being said, I told her I really didn't mind and wouldn't be disappointed if she's not able to maintain her 4.0 throughout high school.

She's lucky (as are we) to have a great group of girls her age.
We took her to Ocean View for her birthday. Ron's birthday was the 8th, Elder Williams birthday was the 10th, and Jayley's was the 18th. The missionaries had never eaten at Ocean View so we treated them too for Elder Williams birthday. It was a lot of fun.
