Walk With Christ
Last Wednesday we did an awesome joint activity with the boys and girls for mutual. I was in charge this month and so I wanted to find something that would go along with Easter and the Resurrection. I came across an idea on the internet and I am so glad that I copied and pasted it into my email because I can't find it now to give credit. Anyway, it gave the scriptures and explained that you decorate 7 rooms. With the help of our Young Women's President and her amazing Mom we pulled off an awesome night. We started in the Primary room where we had soft music about Christ playing. We divided the kids into groups of 4-6. They exited out the right doors in the primary room and went into the first room. Each room had the name of the room written on the door and each room had the scriptures printed on large sheets of paper and were hung on the walls. They were instructed to have one person read the scriptures in each room aloud (taking turns being the spokesperson). After the first group left, we sent the next group a minute after the first group entered the second room and so on. As they finished they came in through the left door to the primary room where we had a dessert table. They grabbed a treat and sat down and listened to the music while they waited for the rest of the groups to finish. Then when everyone was done going through the Bishop talked for about 15 min. on the atonement. It was so amazing!
Room 1- The Last Supper
(The bowls had fresh artisan bread torn up in each bowl. You could smell the bread when you walked in.)
Luke 22: 1, 14, 17-23

48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Room 2- The Garden of Gethsemane

Room 3- The Judgment of Christ

16 And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?
18For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.
19¶When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.
20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.
22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.

Room 4- The Scourging of Christ
(In this room you could smell the vinegar in the pitcher when you walked in.)
27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.
28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
29¶And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.
31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.
32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.
33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,
34¶They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.

Room 6- Joseph of Arimathaea's Tomb
(In this room you could smell the spices in the wood dishes, especially the cinnamon.)
