Carlanna Lake-Sunday part 3

While we were sitting on the deck enjoying the sun our friends called to see if we wanted to go walk around Carlanna Lake. You feel like you can't get enough of the sun. We were thrilled to go. I told her that right after church we hiked rainbird trail. She laughed and said that they walked around Ward Lake right after Church. This was the second hike for both of us. LOL I'm not kidding until you've been deprived of the sun you have no comprehension of how much you want to soak it in when it's out. It was so wonderful.

Loving the Sun-Sunday part 2

Then we came home, broke our fast and ate on the deck. We couldn't get enough of the sun. No one wanted to go inside. It felt so good. Our friend Lupe' stopped by.

She teased us and said, "What you guys think you're going to get a tan?"
I said, "No, we don't care about tans we just want to absorb as much of the sun as we can."

Then Sam said to me....."Mom, what is a tan?" I laughed and hugged him and said "oh you are my little Alaska boy." When I explained that a tan was being in the sun so that the sun could make your skin darker he looked at me and said, "I don't like tans."

Welcome Spring!!-Sunday part 1

I'm afraid I'll jinx myself by saying that. Today was so beautiful. The sun was shining. The sky was clear and it actually felt warm. We came home from church, changed our clothes and headed straight out the door to go on a hike. Anywhere else a hike on Sunday would probably not be an appropriate Sabbath day activity, in Ketchikan I can tell you whole heartedly that there is no guilt hiking on Sunday. The dreary rainy days really get to you. Until you actually live it you can't fully understand it. We go weeks without ever seeing the sun. I mean weeks. Spring seems to always be nasty....windy, rainy, and cold. It's been a long time since the sun has poked through. Even days that it doesn't rain, it will be so thick with clouds that it is still dreary. It's really taken a toll on me this year. I can't describe it. I was told that I needed to start supplementing every day with vitamin D. Anyway, back to the sunny day. When it is this beautiful you have to get out and enjoy the creations that Heavenly Father gave to us. I would place bets that every member of the congregation went home and headed somewhere to enjoy the sun. It was so awesome. We walked the rainbird trail above town.
