May 8th and May 15th

So I guess it is about time that I record some of the happenings in my family. Life is so busy and honestly I don't really like blogging. Actually I think I probably wouldn't mind blogging if I were caught up. It's the catching up part that is so discouraging to me.

So the biggest events in our lives right now is dealing with Jaden's ongoing seizures. She ended up with 396 seizures in November. In December that number far surpassed 500+. Since December she has at least 10-20 seizures a day. It has just recently reduced to only 10 some days. For the most part it has been closer to 20 a day. Until these past few weeks they were all at night time. Ron and I were exhausted from such interrupted sleep. However, she recently has started having a lot less at night like only 3-4 and a lot more during the day. The number hasn't reduced they've just changed when they happen. Last week she had about 7 seizures at school. On Friday she had to come home early because in the first 2 hours of school she had already had 3. Sadly, we are glad that they have decided to express during the day rather than at night. We are getting much better sleep. It was so hard being woke up 20 times a night.

Anyway, her and I went to Primary Children's in December. We saw 4 of her Drs. To make a long story short she needs another brain surgery. Only this time she needs the 2 part brain surgery which is 2 surgeries. The first brain surgery will be May 8th. They will place electrodes directly on her brain. Then for a week they will monitor her seizure activity. Then on May 15th they will remove the electrodes and remove another section of her brain. We were hoping for this to be a lot sooner, but that was the soonest they could coordinate all 4 Drs. schedules 2 weeks in a row. So for the time being we have to continue to deal with all of these annoying seizures.

We have also been so CRAZY busy with basketball season. Travis and Jayley have both been absolutely amazing. They are both super stars on their teams. Travis usually gets a double double (double digit scoring and double digit rebounds). And he's been playing with a broken hand all season. More on that later. Jayley has consistently been the high scorer and point guard on her team. Yes, she is only a sophomore. Her last four games have been 30 points, 28 points, 21 and 17. In the game with 21 she was 5 for 6 from the 3 point line. It's been a blast watching both of them this year. They have both excelled so much in basketball.
