Surgery Day
Has it really been 3 weeks since I blogged and since Jaden was in the hospital? Time has gone by so fast. We are back in the hospital because today is Jaden's surgery day. We started at 6:30 this morning. They had her registered and prep by 7:45. The anesthesiologist took her back then and said the surgery was scheduled to start at 8:00. It is 12:57. So far we have received 3 updates:
1) She is doing good.
2) We are done mapping and have started dissecting.
3) So far she has not lost a lot of blood so no transfusion needed. She is still doing good.
They told us the surgery would take 5-6 hours. It's been 5 hours now. While we are waiting I am going to start blogging pictures from our trip this summer. They are on my computer and I have lots of time on my hands.

unexpected event
So when I get time to purchase a gadget to get my pictures off my camera and onto my computer I will have pictures of my class reunion. While we were on our trip Jaden's seizures started increasing. At my reunion they had escaladed to one every 1/2 hour. We called her neurologists and the prescribed her some valium. It didn't work just like it never has in times past and so we ended up driving her to SLC to Primary Children's.
This was on the drive up. She was seizing about every 15 min. You can see how wiped out she was getting.
She bit her tongue during one of her seizures. Her tongue swelled up and you can see the damage she did to it on the sides of her tongue. ( she's sticking it out....it didn't swell that much lol)
Finally in the hospital.....and that is where we sit right now. We have been here for 6 days. She has had well over 200 seizures since she has been in the hospital. We finally have answers at least. This time after studying her EEG for 4 days they were able to pinpoint the location of her seizures. With that information they were able to look more closely at her MRI to find abnormalities in the frontal lobe of her brain. We are so excited. This means that she will be having brain surgery in Sept. or possibly in August. It's really scary, but finally we have answers as to why she has so many seizures and why they are so hard to control. It's so exciting to think of the possiblity of getting her off all of her meds and having her live a normal seizure free life.
Either brave or stupid....
So on June 15th we embarked on a long summer vacation. We ferried from Ketchikan to Prince Rupert, Canada. Then we drove 2800 miles through Canada, Washington, Montana, Idaho, Utah, and then arrived to our first destination which was Page, AZ my home town for my 20 year class reunion. This is the last of my iphone pictures. Hopefully, the rest of the summers posts will be better. We brought our real camera. I also am so far behind that I'm not really blogging I'm just getting pictures up.
Mother Daughter Personal Progress Retreat
We had an awesome opportunity to go to a mother daughter persoanl progress retreat at Silver King Lodge. It was so much fun. We went to Silver King for the weekend as Mother's and daughters and as a whole young women's group. We had the opportunity to work on personal progress both individually and as a group. We also got to hang out and play. Each Mom and daughter had their own room together. It was a ton of fun.
Easter 2011
I was out of town for a volleyball trip. I was quite pleased to see how Ron had dressed them. Not too shabby. You can tell he tried to put together an Easter combo. (Of course, I didn't help cause I hadn't bought anything this year for Easter. I was too involved in coaching volleyball. That kept me super busy.)
